Welcome to Rewired - A 3D FPS designed and created using the GDevelop Engine. This was created as my entry to the Gdevelop Big Game Jam 8. Unfortunately, I ran out of time - Work commitments and life got in the way, but I managed to get most of the game loop working.


The idea is, you play as a mech in an all out battle with other mechs. When you manage to defeat them, rather than continuing, you take control of their mech, to continue the fight. I had big plans with different game modes, maps, etc but had some real issues trying to work out how to get a 3D multiplayer FPS working using the GDevelop engine. I had a lot of fun, and I will be finishing and fixing things up as soon as voting is over and I'm safely able to modify things again.


List of fixes I intend to make:
- Fix being able to fire laser from gun at correct angle to target (this was surprisingly more difficult than it looks!)
- Fix "take control" logic when a player short circuits at 0 health - Right now the game bugs out, but you should have the "shorted" player go back to the high camera view with a button to rejoin. Instead, it breaks the view for all users. Not ideal...
- Fix the score menu (tab button) to show live player info. No issues with this, just ran out of time.
- Fix being able to shoot into the sky or far away objects. Current raytrace is too short. Should be an easy-ish fix.
- Actually calculate scores properly. Right now they are not displayed anywhere.
- Sometimes screen goes weird if 1 player fires - the "shake camera" logic is not made for multiplayer games and somehow shakes on all clients.
- Sometimes see weird camera issues with the mouse panning to the floor or sky
- Fix mechs from rotating when a player looks up or down.

Enhancements:
- Create a new menu after joining a lobby where players can set game rules and pick a map, etc.
- Fix spatial audio to allow you to hear other mechs properly
- Add sounds such as firing cooldown, hit indicator,
- Make map more interesting with choke points, more cover, more fluff.
- Many more things.

Controls:
WASD to move.
Left Click to fire
Space to jump
Tab to open score overlay
Escape to show game info and allow exit (Not working right now)
